We are thrilled to announce the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping’s IMO International Day for Women in Shipping Conference 2024.

In line with the resolution adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the 18th of May was announced as the day to recognize and appreciate women in maritime. Nigerian Chamber of Shipping is organizing the third women in maritime conference in commemoration of IMO International Day for Women in Maritime. This year, the Female Seafarers Association of Nigeria (FESAN) will be featured as part of our continued efforts to promote gender equality and foster inclusivity within the maritime shipping sector.

This years’ theme ‘ Safe Horizons: Women Shaping the Future of Maritime Safety’, recognizes the crucial role women play in enhancing safety measures, whether through their roles as seafarers, maritime professionals, or in leadership positions.
This event will serve as a platform to highlight the indispensable role of women in advancing maritime safety and driving innovation in the industry. As we continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote growth and sustainability, we recognize the vital contributions of women in shaping the economic landscape of Nigeria’s maritime sector and in the world.
