Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy Statement

Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy Statement for the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping

At the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS), we are unwavering in our commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all aspects of our operations. As the voice of Nigeria’s maritime and shipping industry, we recognize our responsibility to lead by example in the fight against bribery and corruption.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, corruption, and any form of unethical behavior. This applies to all NCS employees, board members, consultants, partners, and third parties acting on our behalf—both locally and internationally.

We prohibit the offering, giving, soliciting, or receiving of bribes, facilitation payments, or improper gifts intended to influence decisions or secure unfair advantage. All business dealings must be conducted with honesty and in compliance with applicable Nigerian laws and international standards.

NCS also encourages transparency in all sponsorships, donations, and partnerships, ensuring that such engagements reflect our values and are never used as a cover for improper conduct.

We urge individuals to report any suspected violations of this policy through the appropriate confidential channels. The Chamber is committed to protecting whistleblowers and ensuring that all reports are investigated thoroughly and fairly.

By maintaining this standard, we aim to build a maritime industry rooted in trust, fairness, and professionalism.
Together, let’s engineer a more ethical and transparent maritime future.
