In a bid to enhance security and combat criminal activities within Nigeria’s ports and the wider maritime industry, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police for Maritime Command, Garba Musa Yusuf, has led his management team on a maiden courtesy visit to the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) headquarters, Marina Lagos.

During the meeting with the NPA’s management, AIG Yusuf emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy between the Maritime Police Command and the NPA to address crime challenges in the port environment.

He assured the NPA of the Maritime Police Command’s commitment to ensuring efficient and effective policing of the ports.

The AIG also stressed the need for constant communication between the Maritime Police Command and NPA management to address any criminal elements disrupting port operations promptly.

A statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Okoi Arikpo, states that AIG Yusuf expressed his determination to eradicate the clandestine activities of criminals in and around Nigeria’s ports.

The visit marks a significant step toward fostering stronger partnerships and improving security measures across Nigeria’s critical maritime infrastructure.
